Style Seeker

Hello everyone!
Our old segment - Style Seeker - is back! Remember what was it about? We're choosing two girls and just describe their outfits. Last time I did this with Nora (babettecouture), but now our new writer Polly (polincik) accepted to continue this segment with me.
This time we chose two well known style icons - Emma (mysecketlover) and Nicole (tcholas93) .

Egle : I loved everything in this outfit. I love how Emma used the faux racoon tail, I just noticed that i never used it... My favorite part of the outfit was the ring - it gives so much class to everything.
Pauline: Emma is looking gorgeous as always! Black is a fashion trend for all generations. Also I loved the web hat. Very original! The only thing is - I don't like these shoes. Maybe high-heels would fit better?

Egle : Nicole is one of my biggest icons. Her make-up is always stunning, the outfits are classy... I really love the wild prints and classic white trousers.
Pauline: I'm inlove with this outfit! What could be more classy then golden accessories? But I'm against real fur, so I hope in real life you'd used the fake one (:

That's all for now.
Would you like to see yourself in here? Just leave a comment and I'm sure you'll be noticed.

E//

Their faces scream: FASHION!

When I was browsing through stardoll, I came across these medolls - LimePolkaDotsTDIlover. I was shocked how they made a regular face with an ordinary make-up so original!
Courtney (TDIlover) wow'ed me with her eye tattoo. Who knew that a tattoo could go with such a sweet face?
Daphne (LimePolkaDots) wasn't affraid to use freckles on her face as well. Let's admit that not many of us love them. She made them look stylish!

What do you think?

Roberto Cavalli SS'10

Hey there! Before I start off I'd like to introduce myself - I am Sarah, blueberry-dream on Stardoll, the newest member of the SOF team! Exciting, eh? :D Oh well, back to the post.

Roberto Cavalli's latest collection (SS 2010, of course) had been released quite some time ago, but I thought that it was such a beautiful collection I wanted to post it here. These are just a few of my favorite looks but if you want to see the whole collection for yourself pop down here.
(From left to right): Fabiana Mayer, Katie Fogarty, Ruby Aldridge, Daria Strokous

I absolutely loved everything from the laces, knits and complicated sewing patterns, sequins, sheens, fringes, crosshatches...it's art. Those pants are GENIUS, by the way, wish we had them on Stardoll! I like how it has a jungle vibe in the clothing and backdrop, it creates a nice feeling.

What did you think of the collection? Which look was your favorite?
Till next time :)

A bit of fashion in commercials

Bonjour!
As you can see, I'm the new writer in this fabulous blog (:
I'm Polincik and my name is Pauline (or just Polly).
I'm very honored to be a writer here.
Thanks, E.

Today I want to talk about the commercials. No, not about those annoying TV ones!
About those, which we can call movies.
About those, which we remember when we say "fashion".

MARTINI ® Gold

Director: Jonas Ã…kerlund
Special appearance: Monica Bellucci, Domenico Dolce, Stefano Gabbana
Location: Rome (Italy)
Year: 2010

The Martini Gold movie is inspired by Fellini’s "La Dolce Vita". It celebrates Italian lifestyle as well as Monica Bellucci’s all-Italian beauty, with surprise appearances by Italian fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana.
I don't usually drink alcohol, but this commercial is forcing me to go and buy this huge bottle of Martini!

CHANEL N°5

Director: Baz Luhrmann
Special appearance: Nicole Kidman, Rodrigo Santoro
Location: -
Year: 2004

Everyone thought, that this commercial will make a revolution in the advertisement industry, and it did. The Chanel movie is inspired by Luhrmann's "Moulen Rouge". The Nicole Kidman's dress was designed by Karl Lagerfeld. After the commercial premiere there was released a 25-minutes movie about how was it made.
I'm inlove with this "movie", no, I'm even more inlove with this Chanel dress. Stardoll, make one!

xoxo, Pauline :*

Je recherche ''RECHERCHE''

The title of this post means, in French, ''i'm searching for RECHERCHE''. And I can say that I found it. The new spoiler of Recherche is oh so spooky, but who knows what the entire issue will really be about? Dark Fashion, I suppose. That's what is says on the spoiler. It sure takes my breath away and makes me remember Halloween and the creepy costumes that people wore, but turn all of it into fashion and then you'll know what Recherche will be about. That's my guess.

Any thoughts?

renewing the State of Fashion!

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I'm sure that it is my fault that SOF has been so unactive, but now I finally decided that this blog can't die
So me and the new co-owner Emily (because Mary left stardoll) have decided to give this blog a fresh start. First of all, me and Emily should be much more active. We'll also look for a few more writers. We'll make more competitions, polls, maybe even some exclusive projects. I can't tell you a lot right now, but i'll keep updating everything.
See you with new and exciting ideas, Egle Stone.

P.S. leave a comment if you'd like to write here and i'll contact you for it :)

What a shame!

I'm so proud of myself for chosing this name for this post that I'm writing, because it describes it all so well. Firstly, the team of State of Fashion should be really ashamed for letting this whole blog down, and leaving it unactive. That's not what it was created for- it was supposed to reach the top of the top stardoll- based blogs. It's not just because Mary left stardoll and stuff, that we have to stop doing what we were doing when she was there. Because life goes on. As for me, I do feel guilty too, I mean it's not like I wrote much either, really.

Stardoll Fashion Week - Collection Reviews : The E Empire by Eva Petrina

Glamour. Much much glamour in this collection. I loved the style of the clothes, they remind me of renaissance styles. The golden colour is one of my favourites this season and it makes such a delicious combination with white tones. Unfortunately, there were things i didn't like about this collection. First, it is very small, only six outfits! And second, i noticed that the bodies of the models look a bit weird.

Stardoll Fashion Week - Collection Reviews : color.fashion.chic by Esther Modiel

Color, fashion, chic - the title perfectly matches the collection ! I love the soft spring colours, the style of the clothes... everything. And the best thing of the collection is that it is huge. A great varity to choose your style from the collection. I loved some vintage details of it mixed with modern styles. There were only a few outfits and a few models that i didn't like and i also missed some more accessories, overall the collection is just fab!

Stardoll Fashion Week - Collection Reviews : L'arte De Lily by Lily Rose Todd

Another great collection by Lily... I must say that this one is much better than the previous one, probably because it's much bigger and not so pink.
I loved the red and black colours and the jackets/cardigans of the collection are just perfect! And i guess i can't say anything bad about it, it's really good.

E

Stardoll Fashion Week - Collection Reviews : Coconut by Becka Lavendale and Nojmul Alfred-Darnley

So juicy! The whole collection reminds me of fruits and summer and it really blows my autumn depression away! My favourite things in the collection were the teapot handbags and of course the colourful patterns of the clothes.
The thing i didn't like was the same pose in every graphic, but that's really not the most important thing in the collection. As i like to say - stop looking at the runway and the other less important things, you should better notice the clothes :)

Stardoll Fashion Week - Collection Reviews : Perfection by Lily Rose Todd and Bruno Silva

With the soft shapes, light tones and the spice of rocker chic this collection is really worth it's name - Perfection.
Floral dresses, pastel tones.. it's just perfect for spring! I really love the accessories and the jackets are trully amazing, but i noticed some not so good parts in the collection too. I think that it needs some more accessiries, like bracelets, rings or even bold headbands. I also didn't like the runway, it should have been a bit less bright and at first i thought that the laced hangings in the background are actually wings! Overall the collection in nice, well done.

Here's the outfit that i liked the most :
Isn't this dress simply amazing?

P.S. I noticed that you think that i am being a bit offensive not writing rewievs on stardesign lines so i will do them too.

Stardoll Fashion Week - Collection Reviews

Since this blog is a media partner of Stardoll Fashion Week, you will be able to find exclusive reviews on the collections here. I was asked to write them and I am really proud of it! I will only write the reviews on actual collections, not the StarDesign ones, but who knows, maybe i'll post some of my favourites :)
I will post a review of a collection the next day after it's published, because of time difference and school of course, but i promise it will be worth waiting for them! And because I'm a designer too and i can't write a review on my own collection I'm getting ready for a long post about working in SFW. All the good things, all the bad things. Get ready, it's starting :)

Love, Egle Stone

Fashion Rookie

Today I'm wearing an outfit that I first came up with, after seeing the fall 2010 collection of Moschino (whitch is absolutely stunning- you gotta see it!). I was inspired by the rocky, but elegant woman look, and I tried to make my shades as dark as they were in that collection.

The lipstick- when I tried to apply it all over the lips of my doll, it didn't look so well, so I did what I do the best when I'm too lazy- I did half of the work, and applied the lipstick on the upper lip only. It looks good, I mean I knew how it would look, because I have done this so many times before... I chose a dark cherry-red lipstick, because the whole outfit is kinda dark, and I didn't want my lips to pop out too much.

The scarf- it's a mix of the DKNY Big Black Wool Scarf, and the old DKNY Paisley print scarf. I have no idea what pushed me into doing this, but I must say it looks pretty well, even though you probably couldn't make it look like that in real life.

The military jacket is one of my favourite clothes ever bought on stardoll, I always loved it. I love it's shape, and the shoulder pads on it. I'm also wearing a DKNY vest and shorts. They're not as dark as the rest of the outfit, but that also gives a brigther look to it.

Next stop: the tights+socks. I really like the way those two items look together in this outfit, it reminds me a bit of a Vintage look, but still go with the military stuff. Then- the shoes. I used two pairs of shoes this time, just to get the platform to be bigger, and to get this golden little flower on the shoes, so they don't look too boring.

What do you think?

Emily's Introduction

State of Fashion- here I come!As a new writer in State of Fashion, I'd like to a bit introduce myself to you, so you know who you're going to have to deal with in the future. My stardoll nickname is Pirata111 and my full (and real) name is Emily Vaisno, I'm Lithuanian, and I'm uncontrably in love with the Fashion World and everything that has anything to do with it. I'm a Fashion Maniac, this is the main reason that I'm still playing stardoll, and that my stardoll-sister Egle has accepted me into this blog. I also am the owner and editor-in-chief and fashion editor of the Wild magazine, that I have created with Egle.

As in what concerns State of Fashion, I first was thinking of writing a short daily post about the outfit that I'd be wearing. That would be a bit like the Style Diary that Egle was writting before, but in a bit different way, I suppose. I'd try to make it different, and talk more about what's trendy and what's not. AND I also would like to post some make up tips, is that okay with you, Dear readers? :)

I'll start today, and you'll see my first look in my second post, which is coming right up!

STYLE DIARY

DAY 2
TUESDAY

Another day of working at WILD magazine - we took some photos of the models and I got a personal photoshoot too. Being an editor-in-chief is really a dream job! The photos look great and now I can't wait to see the full magazine released :)
Today I am wearing plaid Miss Sixty trousers matched with a zebra print wrapped top. For the accessories I chose Alexander McQueen gloves, a beanie cap, platform shoes, black Le Specs sunglasses and some bracelets. I also added a double belt.

LE Fall 10

Hey guys, LE is out and I have to say: Stardoll you learnt it! a few cool items are better then many shit items... I'm really proud of you. So above you see my LE outfit and I'd like you to show me yours. Write a comment here including a link to your outfit (tinypic), or to your suite. I will put the contestants in a poll and this person who wins gets 10$ (via bazaar or in gifts if you weren't superstar). You don't have to buy it, you can create the look in the dressroom and you should wear at least two LE pieces.

Let's have fun

Nora

PS: what do you think of my outfit? :D

STYLE DIARY

Hello :)  I've decided to start writing a diary - a style diary. Every day since today i'll post my outfits and short descriptions about them. Next week i'll choose someone someone else and she (or he) will make new outfits every day and i'll write short descriptions for them.

DAY 1
MONDAY

I have so much work today! I thought i shouldn't wear anything special so i chose a simple black blouse and a high waisted skirt. I added a vintage hat to add some glamour to this outfit.  I wear laced black tights and brown socks, because it's a little bit cold outside. High heels with platforms are a must in my outfits..
I don't image any of my outfits without belts, this time i picked a simple brown leather belt.

Style Seeker: sexy class, relaxed office

Hey, Nora and Eglé here!
You can see that here's a new segment: Style Seeker! Style Seeker posts are including outfits of Stardoll meber which are really hot or not. On every Outfit we say what we like and what we would do diffrent. So pls have fun!

poohg_1993 fakeshake3

poohg_1993
Nora: I think she did a good job; It's not to classic but not to sexy too. The grey jacket breaks the constant white outfit in a good way, but the look is not very special.
Eglé: This outfit needs something.. maybe some jewellery or a handbag, it looks too empty.

fakeshake3
Eglé: I don't like the hanbag.. the colour doesn't match the whole outfit, but apart from that it's pretty.
Nora: It has something that makes me feel like in an office. I think it's the skirt, it is very classic but with a special touch of the blouse it looks more relaxed. That's good, but how Eglé said; The bag (in my opinion the shoes too) doesn't fit to the whole outfit.

Kisses

Hot or not?

Hello, Egle here.
I was just dropping by Maggie's suite and i was amazed by her outfit! It's so simple, but really glamorous :)

Maggie is wearing a Valentino dress, a pair of white gloves and white shoes. This time less is more, right?

Must-have item

Hello. Today stardoll released a new hot-buys jacket and in my opinion, it is definately a must-have item! Those golden details on shoulders are gorgeous and the whole shape of it is nice. I've created an outfit with this jacket, a bit inspired by military trends :

What do you think? Do you like it? Do you not like it?
Maybe you've created something with it? Tell in comments and maybe you'll appear on this blog ! :)

Hold on TEFP/Leaving

Hey it's Erin/Erienne, and this will be my last post on State of Fashion. I am leaving Fashion Group for a bit. It is not official. TEFP will still be running, but with different prizes. Thanks for understanding.

She's a free B!, baby!

I was looking through some Stardoll outfits today, and that's always like that - you find something that's very interesting when you don't expect that.
So, a simplicity of a style, the aggressive look, the sexy look, the edgy look. Who is that ?
I can see this girl rocking the underwear, denim and rock-n-chic trends and somehow reminded me of Gaga in "Telephone", I don't know why! Her outfit in the jail was a little different, but i would say THAT style.
Congrats, shoppbabe12! Hope to see some more of your fashion statements!

Also, If you read the previous post, you would know that Erienne is lauching her project within Fashion Group - 'The Erin Fo Project" and will contribute about it in SOF! :) Congrats, as well!

*UPDATE* - awkward moment, but I just found out that HE's a free B! baby.

New Sister Site for State of Fashion

Hello, this is Erin better known as x.optimistic.x on Stardoll, and I'm the newest writer for State of Fashion. Now how many of you believe you are true fashion icons? How many of you want fame, friends? Well for those that do, follow and apply for State of Fashion's newest sister site, The Erin Fo Project. Confused? I understand. The concept is simple really. TEFP, to for short, is a project I created with the help of a few others including Mary, to help fashionistas like yourselves find your inner fashion sense. Every so often, possibly weekly, applicants of TEFP will compete to see who can create the most appealing outfit on their medoll; that includes makeup. The contest will be approximately one week long, and the judges will discuss who they think should win the cycle. We will narrow it down to two and have the public vote for their favorite. The winner will be posted here, for every user to see with their outfit and an interview. Plus fame and friends; as I stated in the beginning. So follow and apply for TEFP; show Stardoll what you're made of. More information is stated in the blog. If you'd like to judge, contact me on Stardoll.

Combination of colours - brown, beige and blue.

Hello:)   I did some experiments with colours today and i found a piece of gold - brown, beige and blue mixed together. I totally love the way that brown leather looks together with denim or beige-coloured clothes or accessories.  Some pieces of theese looks remind me of D&G Spring/Summer  designs.

What do you think? Do you like this combination? Hot or not? Comment!

Models Cult

I've been thinking a lot about the models cult on Stardoll, and never get why people present themselves as 'Editor in Chief", "Owner"... but not a 'model', if they apparentely are?
I go through the Stardoll world everyday and see so much exotic and unique faces! My latest 'obsession' is Violenca who looks a lot like Mariacarla Boscono:

Inspiring! I also love the outfit that girl is wearing, great job!

So, back to models on Stardoll. We have a lot of possibilities right now to become a real virtual fashion world: Magazines, groups, modelling agencies, blogs, fashion shows... And I am always wondering why all the modelling clubs are now 'cycle one, two, three not only you and me...'. I thought cycles were from the models reality show, not agencies?
Marc Jacobs denied celebrities on his fashion shows, and I totally agree on his opinion: "celebrities are boring...", "I am inspired by models! Celebs are out" - he tells to Harper's Bazaar.
Fashion is not about the "Simple life of Paris Hilton" or "What was Britney wearing today". Fashion is fashion. All the people of the fashion industry are the insiders, the people of art. Remind yourself the Facehunter or The Sartoria List... Fashion shows, models, photoshoots. Now that it was I call a fashion circle!
And I suggest us to create the same here. Forget about Littlemisshillsheights, and if you were feature in some fashion editoral of a famous magazine, if your doll is walking down the runway of the next fashion show...
Tell everyone on Stardoll "I am a model here."

xx Mary

Am i dreaming or is that Hermes?

Today i went to Mel's (bluegreen86) suite and the first thought was "Oh my! Stardoll released a Hermes bag", but when i clicked on it..
I realized that it's just a wall panel from stardesign!
Someone did a really great job :)

UPDATE : That gorgeous thing is designed by BabetteCouture !

What do you think? Hot or not?

E.

P.S. Would you like to see some style/make-up tips?

Bonjour!

Love ya all, E.
